My Chemical Romance Breaks Silence After Former Drummer Bob Bryar’s Death
My Chemical Romance have broken their silence with the death of their former drummer Bob Bryan.
“The band asks for your patience and understanding as they process the news of Bob’s passing,” a spokesperson for the rock band said in a Sunday, December 1, statement confirming Bryar’s death, according to the BBC. Variety.
TMZ reported on Saturday, November 30, that Bryar was found dead in his Tennessee home days ago on Tuesday, November 26. He was 44 years old.
According to the source, Bryar was last seen on November 4, and the cause of his death is unclear. No foul play is suspected, per TMZ.

Bryar joined My Chemical Romance in 2004, replacing the original drummer Matt Pelissier. He stayed with the team – and teammates Gerard Way, Ray Toro, Mike Way again Frank Iero – until 2010. It was during Bryar’s tenure with the band that My Chemical Romance released their most famous album, 2006. The Black Parade.
Bryar left the group in 2010 before the release of their fourth studio album, Dangerous Days: The True Lives of Fabulous Killjoysalthough he received some songwriting credits on the record.

Talking to Other Press in 2016, Bryar shared details from his early days as a part of My Chemical Romance, recalling that he knew the group was “special” from the start.
“I left the high-class tour arena where I was in charge and made noise. I quit that job to join a dirty, s-ty-geared, wrecked, smoking, van-killing, poor band. They also smelled bad. I am very happy to receive the request,” he said to the media. “It’s been a long time before we recorded Welcome to the Black ParadeI knew that [MCR] I was special and I wanted in. I wanted to help transform the band and be able to be apart of it every night.”
