In the Basilicata region of southern Italy, caves run through the hill town of Matera – the remains of neolithic villages dating back more than 6,000 years. Journalist Seth Doane visits the reborn town as some of its cliffside caves have been repurposed as restaurants, bars and luxury hotels.
