Twin, where have you been? The Pauldo twins are starting from scratch as they become everyone’s favorite on and off the field. New Jersey’s Mia and Mya Pauldo made a name for themselves nationally, holding two spots in the top 50 rankings for the Class of 2025 and both committed to continuing the legacy of the Lady Vols starting next year.
As one of the toughest backcourts in the country, Mia’s playmaking skills and Mya’s command of the floor show their toughness and determination. Together, they wrote their names in New Jersey hoops history.
Playing together is like “having two killers with you, because we’re both tough,” Mia said.
“He is my best friend,” said Mya. “We do everything together, we tell each other everything. Our relationship is very close, and that translates on the court. “
Winning has always been a priority for the twins, whether it’s national championships, Player of the Year awards or any sport they compete in. While the All-Star Games may separate them, their focus remains clear: playing hard for the name. on the back of their jersey.
“We want to see each other shining,” said Mia. “That’s my idea. I’m happy for him even if he’s on another team.”
Minutes before SLAM Summer Classic Vol. 6, twins are asked to send messages to each other. Almost in unison, they encouraged each other to “run a business and get a dub.”
The SLAM Summer Classic was the main goal of their senior year, with hopes of being invited back to the McDonald’s All-American Game and the Jordan Brand Classic next spring.
Her sister will transfer to Tennessee next season, and hopefully the WNBA will pass that one. What really stood out during our time with the twins was their calmness and love for each other, but also their commitment to giving back to their family and community.
“We have to continue,” said Mya. “Keep hustling, because we are doing something right. We must continue because people are watching us and they are watching us.”
“You always have to hold yourself to a high standard and be respectful, knowing that everyone is watching,” adds Mya.

With all eyes on the sisters, how will they continue to build on their legacy? Young Mia and Mya initially looked to play overseas, but now, with the WNBA closer than ever, their goal has already emerged to make history as the first twins to play in the League together.
“We want to grow the game in this country,” said Mya. “We want more teams, better salaries and more eyes on women’s basketball.”
Being the first wouldn’t be scary. “That is our life; we are stylists,” said Mia. “We want to be the first to do it in our time.”
When asked what message they will give themselves for the future as they look back on SLAM 252, Mia replies, “Always be motivated.” Mya adds, “Make time to learn something new every day.”
What more could anyone ask for than to have your twin by your side to inspire and teach you every day?
