If anything, VanderMolen’s book on behalf of the Menendez family shows a tragic turn that marks it as a Netflix title that could be picked up if not approached with care and fun. Take the last installment of Monster, for example. The series focused on the notorious killer Jeffrey Dahmer, not only showing his brutal crimes but also the impact he had on his community and the victims whose loved ones were unjustly and brutally taken from the world.
We know what Jeffrey Dahmer’s drive was like to commit these heinous acts as, although he was a lonely man looking for a relationship, he was clearly a psychopath. In short, it’s a good case open and shut. On the other hand, the story of Lyle and Erik Menendez is not cut and dry, which is what the Netflix series has made it.
