Martha Stewart Says She Cheated on Ex-Husband in Netflix Doc Trailer
Martha Stewart shares the ups and downs of the new film titled, including the revelation that he once had an extramarital affair.
“I thought I was crazy, but it worked. Young women listen to my advice,” said Stewart, 83, in the Thursday, October 19, trailer for the Netflix show. “If you’re married and your husband starts cheating on you, you’re a piece of s—. Get out of that marriage.”
The producers then asked him about his story, and Stewart replied, “Yeah, but I don’t think Andy ever knew about that.”
This TV star was married to her ex-husband Andrew Stewartwith whom he lived daughter Alexis, between 1961 and 1990. Three years after their divorce, he published his first book. Martha Stewart Living a daytime series that inspired a magazine of the same name. Martha continued to host The Martha Stewart Show and approve a number of cookbooks.
“What is most important? Marriage or work?” Stewart asked in the trailer. “Tell me. I don’t know. A cookie-cutter house and a cookie-cutter life were not for me.”
He added, “I had two mottos: Learn something new every day and when you’re done changing, you’re done. I could have been miserable, a housewife, but I didn’t let that happen to me—and I’m so glad I didn’t.”
Martha didn’t let anything get in the way of her business success, which made her feel like she was “on top of the world,” until she was arrested in 2004. The suspect was found guilty of conspiracy to sabotage and making false statements to the government.
