Maharashtra and Jharkhand Assembly Elections: Counting of votes on Saturday; here are the important things you should know

All eyes will be on the incoming trends this Saturday (November 23) when votes are counted for the recently concluded Assembly elections in Maharashtra (288 seats) and Jharkhand (81 seats). Additionally, votes will be recounted by polling in 41 other Assembly seats in 14 states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Chhattisgarh.

Exit poll trends suggest a close contest between the Centre-ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress (INC)—the main opposition party in the Lok Sabha—in both states.

In Maharashtra, the ruling Mahayuti coalition, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and including the Shiv Sena party (Eknath Shinde’s party), and the NCP party (Ajit Pawar, hopes to hold power against the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA ) coalition, which includes the Indian National Congress (INC), the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray party, and the NCP (Sharad Pawar’s team).

In Jharkhand, the main battle is between INDIA led by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha bloc and NDA led by BJP. In charge Minister Hemant Soren took over in July.

Maharashtra Assembly Election Results Date

According to Zee Media’s AI-powered exit poll, the BJP-led coalition is expected to get 129-159 seats in the 288-seat Maharashtra Assembly, while the INC-led coalition is expected to get 124-154 seats.

The average mark is 145.

Voting took place in one phase for the 288 Assembly seats in the state on November 20.

Jharkhand election results date

According to AI poll conducted by Zee Media, National Democratic Alliance led by BJP is expected to get 36-41 seats out of 81 in Jharkhand State Legislative Assembly while the ruling party of INDIA led by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha will win 39-44 seats.

The average mark is 41.

Voters voted for 81 seats in the District Assembly in two phases, on November 13 and November 20.
