‘Like a Dragon: Yakuza’ trailer brings SEGA’s Japanese pirate game to life

Prime Video released the official trailer for Like a Dragon: Yakuzawhich offers a look at the new live-action adaptation of SEGA’s popular video game series. It looks like we’re going to see a lot of the games he’s known for.

It should not be confused Yakuza: Like a dragonThe six-episode series follows Japanese gangster Kiryu Kazuma (Kamen Rider‘s Takeuchi Ryoma) in 1995 and 2005. In 1995, Kiryu and his friends plan a heist that will put them on the path of the Dojima Family, a powerful yakuza organization that runs the Kamurocho underworld. The fraud may not be going so well, given that ten years later Kiryu is released from prison. However, it seems that his violent days are yet to come to an end, as Kiryu returns to Kamurocho to protect his friends after hearing that they are in danger.

It is not yet clear whether Like a Dragon: Yakuza it will include unusual and funny things that make the games so unique. However, judging by a quick photo of the two ladies in formal attire, it looks like the fan-favorite cabaret club skit will at least be heard. We’ll get to see Kiryu try all the tonkatsu joints in town.
