LeBron James Opens Up About The Impact Of The LA Wildfires

LeBron James and his family are among the thousands of people forced from their homes by the Los Angeles fires and he has opened up for the first time about the impact.

LeBron and his family have moved their home to Brentwood and sympathize with the entire community.

“There were a lot of emotions,” James said, per The Athletic. “I have several dear friends who lost their homes in the Palisades. Obviously, my heart goes out to all the families, just across the (Pacific) Palisades, but all of LA County and all the surrounding areas because of the fire and things of that nature. It was a lot of emotions.

“Personally, I was gone,” LeBron continued. “For me, my family, we’ve been out since Thursday night, so I’ve been in the hotel since we got back from Dallas. So, just thinking. But staying strong for each other. Obviously, that is very important.”

This is not the first time the Lakers star has had to leave his home due to wildfires. He also had to leave in 2019 because of the fire.

“We had that knowledge and we were able to lean on that a little bit,” James said. “The difference between the 19th and today, the 19th was at midnight so we had to leave quickly. We had a little more time before we had to go out, so we were able to find some things, find some things wherever it was, find things that meant things to us. But our home has not been touched since we left, but it is still standing and we are thankful for that.”
