Leak: AMD’s Ryzen 9000X3D chips don’t look like a leap forward

According to slides from an MSI presentation published by HardwareLuxx today (with VideoCardz), the new chips may have decent multicore performance gen-over-gen, with the eight-core 8000X3D outperforming the Ryzen 7 7900X3D by up to 28 percent in Cinebench R23. But they can offer a small profit of 2 percent Dark Legend: Wukong again Shadow of the Tomb Raideraccording to MSI’s first test.

And against the vanilla Ryzen 9000 series, MSI found that the X3D’s performance was very close to match. MSI notes that “Performance is expected to improve on PR samples and commercial chips,” however.

At the same CPU frequency, MSI believes that the performance of the Ryzen 9000X3D is similar to non-X3D chips.

It is not clear whether HardwareLuxx it broke the embargo or MSI could be responsible for the leak – surprisingly, it seems that the presentation section was about Intel’s new Intel Core Ultra 200S chips, and it is not clear why AMD’s unreleased chips will be part of that section. The presentation shows that MSI’s discussion of Intel chips was blocked until October 10.
