Larry Kudlow: President Trump has captured the new American zeitgeist
President Trump has captured the new American zeitgeist, and that’s the title of the riff.
President Trump celebrated his Time magazine “Person of the Year” award by ringing the bell at the New York Stock Exchange, which is still an American font. capitalism. You can hear chants of “USA, USA” from the shoppers on the floor.
Mr. Trump he is the first president since Ronald Reagan to ring the bell at the inauguration. After four years of the total failure of Joe Biden’s big government socialism and Modern Monetary Theory, it’s no wonder those NYSE traders are happy. Mr. Trump has promised tax cuts and deregulation to boost economic growth by 3% or more.
Of course, he himself understands business because he was a very successful businessman. Almost none of the Biden administration has worked in business, except for a few who managed DEI and ESG programs, which are not included, and will be blown by the president-elect.

Mr. Trump has already appointed the DOGE brothers, also known as Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, to dismantle the unelected leadership of the so-called authoritarian regime – itself the backbone of Joe Biden’s socialism. With more than $2 billion in legislation, especially Biden’s war on fossil fuels, this modern brand of Marxism threw sand in the gears of business and undermined the type of corporate capitalism Mr. Reagan and Mr. Trump.
Probably, Mr. Trump will move quickly to make good on his tax cut plans, including a 15% corporate tax on domestic manufacturers, and include that and his other key promise to end the crime-ridden wave of illegal immigration, putting all of that in a smartly-passed fiscal reconciliation bill — which would be the centerpiece in his first weeks in office. Already, American business and consumer confidence have soared in the face of Schumpeterian storms of creative destruction.
The landscape is changing. Trump’s victory revives America’s lost energy. Traditionally, there is a collective groan that the yoke of the awakened mental virus, to use Elon’s phrase, will be removed.
Merit will replace DEI. Religion and faith will return, which brings us to an interesting moment in President Trump’s Time magazine interview.

Mr. Trump told them that the assassination attempts in Pennsylvania changed many people. He said a lot of people are turning to religion, including his family members, and he reiterated his point, back at the RNC convention in Milwaukee, that he believed God saved his life for a reason.
As if Mr. Trump has captured the new American zeitgeist. Indeed, Mr. Trump he himself may be that zeitgeist. That’s the wrap.
