Keyshawn Davis (12-0, 8 KOs) says WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis “has no choice but to fight him” now after his knockout victory over light welterweight Gustavo Lemos (29-2, 19 KOs) on Friday night. . in a top-rated show on ESPN+ at Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia.
Keyshawn, not known for being a puncher, caught the feisty-looking Argentinian Lemos with a good counter in the second round that had him down by the seat of his pants.

Lemos, 28, was an easy victim after the blow and was knocked down twice by Keyshawn before referee Raul Caiz Jr. disqualified him from the contest at 1:59 of the second round. The punches that Keyshawn landed weren’t huge, but it was a case of Lemos not recovering the first time he was hit.
A win over #3 WBC and #3 ranked Keyshawn makes him the WBO champion for Denys Berinchyk, who is likely to follow him. Top Rank won’t be able to negotiate a fight with Tank Davis anytime soon if it happens.
I’d be surprised if Keyshawn ever wrestles him unless he’s a star, and he might not be able to jump before he’s forced to move up because of his size. He didn’t look much smaller than the 155-lb Lemos inside the ring, which suggests he’s been on the cutting edge.
The Knockout Came as a Surprise
“I didn’t think I would stop Lemos. I thought he was going to be tough, tough, and we were going to have a fight that was like my last fight and I played really well,” Keyshawn Davis said to the media after his victory over Gustavo Lemos on Saturday night. Norfolk, Virginia.
It didn’t come as much of a shock that Keyshawn took out Lemos because, with the way he was throwing wild punches, leaving them exposed every so often, it was only a matter of time.
Within the first 30 seconds, I could see why Keyshawn chose Lemos as his opponent over Andy Cruz or Raymond Muratalla. Lemos wasn’t a threat to beat him and was a decent opponent to look good on. He was thoroughly tested before being selected by Keyshawn.
“I took him out in the second round; I knew when I dumped him for the first time that it was over. I didn’t know it was over and I just closed the show,” Keyshawn continued. “
‘Business Man’ Believes It Can Hurt a Tank
“The one person you don’t like is him,” Keyshawn said of Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis who doesn’t like being called by him. “He is a strange person, but now he has no choice but to fight me. The fans want him to fight me after what I did tonight to a bigger guy.”
Tank is uncomfortable being pressured into fights by the needy, and Keyshawn fails to learn from the many other fighters who have used the same method to try and get a chance against him.
The only one lucky enough to call Tank was Ryan Garcia, but that was because he had 12 million Instagram followers and a Hollywood movie star aura about him. Keyshawn is having none of that. He’s just a popular guy in Norfolk, Virginia who’s known for his self-indulgent interviews. That sums up Keyshawn.
What Keyshawn needs is to continue to take out his opponents, look good, and be more willing to stand and fight instead of moving like we saw tonight.
