Kevin O’Leary confronts CNN panel, says Democrats ‘avoided democracy’ by nominating Harris

Millionaire investor and “Shark Tank” star Kevin O’Leary clashed with CNN editors after he criticized the Democratic Party on Thursday for selecting Vice President Kamala Harris as their nominee.
O’Leary said on “CNN NewsNight” after watching him at their town hall the night before, Democrats should be worried about how he ended up being nominated.
He said he was impressed that “90 days ago, Pelosi went to Biden and said, ‘You need to step down’ and convinced him to do so. He made a decision, he really asked him, and now I read this, ‘Are you the right person to drive this home?’ He asked, ‘We need to run a process to do this,’ but I don’t know who it was, ‘Obama? I don’t care who it was.’
After using an analogy about a stock pick, O’Leary, who has criticized Harris in the past, asserted that Harris’ nomination was “the second time the Democratic Party has bypassed democracy and elected—”

‘NO WAY:’ DEMOCRATS RESPOND TO MALA HARRIS’ LACK OF COMMUNICATION
The panel exploded with several, saying, “That’s not true. That’s not true.”
As others continued to chime in, O’Leary argued that no one was allowed to run against Hillary Clinton in the 2016 Democratic primary, when some voters felt that Sen. Bernie Sanders was cheated out of the nomination because of the bias of the Democratic National Committee.
“Kevin, Hillary Clinton won the primary,” Phillips countered.
“No one can compete with him!” O’Leary said, raising his voice among many speeches. “Even Bernie Sanders!”
“He won the primary,” Phillips said again.
“So did Kamala Harris win the primaries?” O’Leary asked.
“Listen, we’ve talked about this before-,” Phillips said.
“What’s wrong with talking about it at night after what you just saw?” O’Leary asked, as the investigators continued to speak. “How many Democrats wish-“

“You think that’s what matters to the voters?” CNN economic analyst Catherine Rampell asked. “Your whole idea was, ‘Let’s talk about what’s going on with the voters,’ do you think the voters care about the first internecine process?”
“If you’re a Democrat, you’re sure as hell today,” he replied.
“I know you’re Canadian,” CNN anchor Abby Phillip said, challenging her credibility. “But the first process in this country is not in the Constitution, it is not in the Constitution. Political parties can choose however they want to nominate him, and as long as he reaches the legislative deadline in the states where he is. vote, they can do it the way they want.”
HOW LONG WILL KAMALA HARRIS’ HONEYMOON END WITH DONALD TRUMP?
“Yes, to be clear, I was born in Canada,” O’Leary said, standing up. “But my children were born and raised in Boston. All the money I have invested in the United States, I want the president, whoever it is, to be a winner.”
“He’s describing something that is undemocratic and has nothing to do with the democratic process,” Phillips said of the Democratic Party base.
