Kelly Monaco Talks About Leaving General Hospital After 21 Years

Alongside the message, Monaco shared a quick photo on the couch with costars Kate Mansi, Nancy Lee Grahn again Kristen Vaganos. In the comments section of the upload, Grahn, 68, offered words of encouragement.
“‘Amid every difficulty there is opportunity.’ – Albert Einstein,β Grahn wrote. “I love you. Everything will be fine. There are things that TV moms only know. β€οΈπ₯β€οΈπ«.”
Monaco has played Sam McCall in the soap opera since 2003 and has appeared in over 2,000 episodes. In August, the source was told only Us Weekly that Monaco will be parting with it General Hospital. (Soap Opera Network he was the first to report the news of his departure.)

In September, Monaco appeared to address her exit in a since-deleted Instagram comment. The Soap Hub upload featured Monaco as a costar Greg Vaughanwith the caption, βGreg Vaughan shares memories with Kelly Monaco behind him GH shooting.”
One commenter said Monaco refused to release the salary, which he publicly denied. “‘No important role’.. do your homework,” replied Monaco. “When Billy Miller he was fired, Sam’s story stopped. Stripping Sam of all the features he had,” he wrote. “I’m building something I’ve worked on for decades… I’m breaking him down a little bit, making him a character I don’t know, let alone the audience. Call it what you willβ¦ get revenge on it [sic] very good. I will give a proper statement. The truth will set you free.β
Mom from Monaco, Carminashe talked about her daughter’s departure on Instagram. “This moment is difficult, but knowing that he had so many dedicated fans gave him strength,” he wrote. βYou stand by him at every turn, celebrate his achievements and give him comfort in difficult times. Your love and dedication has meant more than words can say, not only to Kelly but to all of us who care deeply about her.”
