In interview no Peoplepublished on Saturday, September 21, Key, 53, said that he and Peele, 45, “shared a mind” when they came together to create Comedy Central. Key & Peele sketch series in 2012, the two have since broken up.
“What’s tragic for me,” Key told the outlet before adding that “your lives start to unfold and go in different directions.”
Key & Peele wrapped on Comedy Central in 2015 and nearly a decade ago, Peele and his actress wife, Chelsea Perettihe built a house in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, Key and his producer wife, Ellelives in New York City.

Key explained further, “Our evolution, I think, is connected to both of our desires. His desire was to start exploring the horror genre, and my desire was to do a dramatic work as I had been trained in school. We both jumped to another stage.”
These comedians first gained fame when they joined Fox MADtv in the year 2004.
“We sat together for a few months and wrote and talked about comedy — who we liked and why we liked them and how that worked into what we were trying to create in a funny way,” Key said, adding that he and Peele “shared a creative language” and that their chemistry was “alchemy.”
