That slight slide comes despite heavy spending by Democrats, and especially in swing states, where Trump on average leads Harris by the smallest of margins.

The Harris team is seeing its “happiness” campaign run out of steam and has decided with trepidation that the candidate must be accountable on the issues that matter to voters. Immigration is one of those top concerns that is currently being plagued by Trump. According to CNN, 49% of voters trust the former immigration president compared to 35% who trust Harris. An open border could be the key to winning toss-up states like Arizona and to winning over Black men, especially those concerned about the impact of illegal immigration on the job market.
