Josh Giddey Opens Up About Online Hatred

At just 22 years old, Bulls freshman guard Josh Giddey has been subject to enough online criticism to last him a lifetime.
The former OKC star landed himself in hot water after allegations that he had a relationship with a minor in late 2023.
However, he has been cleared of any wrongdoing by the NBA and the police.
But, the online mockery has not stopped.
The Bulls posted something as innocent as a happy birthday post for Giddey this week, and the post received over 47K reactions and thousands of comments, many of which were negative and some even tried to link Giddey to disgraced rapper P Diddy.
Giddey also commented on this post, saying, “Thank u 💖. Damn… these comments 😟.”
The Chicago guard was convinced by what he saw online and admits how difficult it can be at times.
“I see everything, and it’s difficult, because we are people first,” said Giddey, with AllChgo. “Obviously we are athletes, and we have a big stage, and we are watched by millions and people around the world. But it’s obviously painful to see that thing. But at the same time, you have to look at it from another perspective: you’re living your dream, you’re in the NBA. You shouldn’t let online things and comments like that bother you too much. But it’s easier said than done, because we read it and we see it, and many people will see 99 great things, but you remember one bad thing you see.”
This is not the first time Giddey has spoken about difficult times.
In his end-of-season interview with the Thunder in May, Giddey shared that “there were days when you didn’t want to get out of bed.”
There’s no doubt he’s looking to put all that behind him and have a great first year with a promising bullpen.
