Jeremy Strong’s ‘Succession’ Costars Talk About His Style
Jeremy Strong raised eyebrows with his commitment to making a way – not all his own Sequence costars were on board.
The hit HBO series, which premiered in 2018, focuses on a wealthy family as they struggle to control their father’s company amid his deteriorating health. He is powerful, bringing Logan’s (Brian Cox) heir apparent Kendall in life, viewers were surprised when his commitment to the role was focused on the profile The New Yorker.
The Golden Globe winner’s costars didn’t seem happy with Strong’s behavior when the cameras weren’t rolling. In response, Strong noted that his approach may appear “difficult” to some, saying, “Sometimes there must even be a place for necessary harshness.”
After backtracking, Strong called the profile a “deep betrayal” of his trust. The Selma star admitted that her clients’ comments about her love of acting hurt her feelings.
“A lot of that is just stuff that’s presented out of context or with an agenda,” he said The Hollywood Reporter that month. “I know what everyone said, and there was an angle and a narrative that was being presented. Which is to say that there has never been a conflict between my expenses. We are family in every sense of the word. But in reality, there is deep respect and even love.”
