Indonesia’s Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki spews a huge column of ash
Indonesia’s Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki has erupted again, with fresh casualties among civilians already traumatized by an eruption that killed at least ten people on Monday.
The country’s volcanology center reported seven eruptions on Thursday, the most powerful of which spewed a column of ash 8,000m (5 miles) into the air.
Authorities have set a 7km (4.3 miles) exclusion zone around the volcano on the island of Flores.
More than 10,000 people are living in temporary shelters, with authorities warning of possible flooding and freezing mudflows in the coming days.
