Hunter Biden is accused of owing more than $300K in unpaid rent

After his unconditional pardon by his father, Hunter Biden is facing allegations that he owes former landlords more than $300,000 in unpaid rent.

Shaun Maguire, a partner at the capital firm Sequoia, responded to news of Hunter Biden’s pardon by claiming on social media that the president’s son owes hundreds of thousands of dollars in unpaid rent.

“So what happened to the $300k+ back rent Hunter Biden owes my family from 2019-2020? Has that been forgiven? Thanks Joe,” Maguire wrote in a post to X.

The president signed a “full and unconditional pardon” for his son Hunter on Sunday that covers federal crimes he committed or may have committed from Jan. 1, 2014, through Dec. 1, 2024. Hunter Biden faces federal tax-related charges. a felony and a related charge of lying about his drug use history on a gun background check form. President Biden He had previously said that he would not forgive his son.

“Hunter was our tenant in Venice, CA. He didn’t pay rent for over a year. He tried to pay for art made out of his own poop. A total bum,” Maguire wrote, adding that the rent was $25,000 a month for the house, located on the canals of Venice, California.

He added that Hunter “changed the locks and used the secret service to force it. We had access to the property.”

When asked by a social media user if Maguire and his family tried to fire Hunter Biden over the incident unpaid renthe said the Bidens are “the kind of scary family to follow.”

FOX Business reached out to Maguire and a representative for Hunter Biden.

Unpaid rent as Maguire said would be a public issue and could be covered by presidential pardonwhich applies only to federal cases.

Maguire’s claim follows earlier allegations by Hunter Biden failed to pay the landlord tens of thousands of dollars in rent.

I DailyMail.com reported last year, citing sources familiar with the dispute, that Hunter Biden owed Sweetgreen CEO and co-founder Jonathan Neman $80,000 in back rent — about three months’ rent on a separate $25,000-a-month apartment in Venice.
