Bruce Campbell’s first installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe looked like a glorified star at first… Doctor Strange and Assorted Madnessyou play pie-slinging Pizza Poppa, the person who punished America Chavez for stealing a pizza ball. He ends up confronting Strange, thinking he’s an imposter in the garb of his fallen magical hero. Strange uses a spell to make the pizza man hit himself repeatedly, but Campbell now points out that this was more than just a joke, asking “You think I’d sign a contract that heavy with that easy throwaway character?”
Sadly, Bruce Campbell didn’t release any details about the significance of his Marvel character, but asked bluntly that “in the Marvel timeline, I’m just Pizza Poppa?” before adding “Please don’t fool yourself.” Part of his evidence for this claim is that he allegedly had to sign a huge contract to appear in the movie, but the length of the contract may indicate a desire to bring him back for future appearances.
