Hoda Kotb she often talks about how her loved ones define her life – especially her daughters, Haley and Hope.
I Today anchor became a mother when she adopted her children in 2017 and 2019, respectively, with her then partner, Joel Schiffman. The former couple got engaged after six years of dating in 2019 before splitting in 2022.
When it comes to raising her children, Hoda often credits her mother, Sameha Kotbto promote his parenting style. “She was a good mother. He was strong,” she said Today in 2016. “That’s how we lived. He understood that no. There was no ‘But everyone does it.’ He didn’t care what anyone else did.”
After her breakup with Schiffman, Hoda discussed the lessons she was trying to instill in Haley and Hope.
“I think the one thing I really want to work on with my girls is for them to have a voice,” she said. Us Weekly in November 2022.”[Teaching them about] to have the courage to say what they need, what they want and not feel greedy or excessive or too strong. … I think I want my girls to speak up and say what they want and not be afraid and not try to conform to what other people want.”
