With 10 days to go until Election Day, major new national polls show Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Trump in the lead in the race to replace President Biden in the White House.
With the clock ticking, the two nominees and their running mates are out in key regions of the field this weekend.
On the road
Trump begins Saturday with a rally in Novi, Michigan, in downtown Detroit. Later in the day, he will campaign in one of the key states – Pennsylvania – as he holds a rally in State College, home of Penn State University.

Sen. JD Vance of Ohio, the Republican vice presidential nominee, begins his day in Atlanta before holding campaign events in Erie and Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Trump surrogate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who ended his long White House run and supported Trump, and former Democratic presidential candidate and former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, who left a few days ago from being an independent member to the Republican, will work with Trump in the state of North Carolina. And Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and Space X who is the world’s richest man, is criticizing Trump in Pennsylvania.

Harris on Saturday will meet first lady Michelle Obama, perhaps the most popular Democrat in the country, at a get-out-the-vote rally in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This stop comes two days after the vice president shared the stage in Atlanta with former President Obama.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, the Democratic vice-presidential nominee, took to the battlefield twice in Arizona on Saturday, first in Window Rock and later in Phoenix.
Showing just how important a role Pennsylvania plays with its 19 electoral votes, first lady Jill Biden is campaigning for Harris in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, while progressive champion Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, a two-time runner-up. for the Democratic nomination, Harris sticks in Erie.
On Sunday, Harris is scheduled to make several stops in Philadelphia. Trump will hold a rally at Madison Square Garden in New York City, the media capital of the world.
Trump’s campaign says the former president, who has long wanted to hold a rally at the iconic New York City venue, will deliver his closing remarks during the rally. And the campaign will hold a backstage fundraiser for major donors with high reach worth $924,600.
Polling station
It can’t get any closer than this.
Two major national polls conducted Sunday through Wednesday and released Friday show Harris and Trump in a dead heat.

Making headlines first is a New York Times/Siena College poll showing the Democratic Party and GOP presidential nominees tied at 48%.
That changed in the previous poll, earlier this month, when Harris held a three-point edge.
A CNN poll put the voter turnout at 47% among likely voters nationwide. Its previous poll at the end of September showed the vice president with a narrow one-point lead.
There were warning signs in two polls for both candidates, however.
Harris lost his chance to outscore Trump in both polls.
After succeeding President Biden at the top of the Democrats’ 2024 ticket in July, the vice president’s favorable ratings rose. But they have eroded a little in the last month.

Another red flag for Harris is polls showing that his support among black voters is below Biden’s levels in the 2020 election.
For Trump, his support from White voters is consistent with his position in the 2020 election, when he lost the White House to Biden.
And the former president is still facing the problem of the lack of a vice president when it comes to honesty and caring for people.
While national polls are closely watched, the race for the White House is not based on the national popular vote. It is a battle of states and their electoral votes.

And recent polls in seven key battleground states whose narrow margins will determine Biden’s 2020 victory over Trump and likely decide whether Harris or Trump win the 2024 election, most of them are within the margin of error.
A recent Fox News national poll showed Trump with a two-point lead, but Harris with a 6-point advantage among respondents in all seven states in the field.

Although there is some error in the polls, there is a clear difference in the battle for campaign finance, another important indicator of the president’s politics. And Harris.
According to the latest figures from the two major party presidential campaigns filed with the Federal Election Commission, Harris brought in $97 million in the first half of October.
That’s far more than the $16 million the Trump campaign said it raised in the first half of this month.
Both campaigns use a number of fundraising committees to raise money. And when that was included, Trump narrowed the gap, but trailed $176 million to $97 million in the first two weeks of this month.
The new documents also reveal that the Harris campaign continues to spend heavily on the Trump campaign.

In the first 16 days of October, the Democratic presidential candidate’s campaign outspent Trump $166 million to $99 million, and paid media was the top spender for both campaigns.
However, Harris ended the reporting period with more money in his wallet. As of October 16, he had $119 million, while Trump had $36 million. When joint fundraising committees are included, Harris has profits from $240 million to $168 million.
