Devin Haney says a rematch with Ryan Garcia is his top priority for 2025. He believes he will win on a “level playing field.” Saying this repeatedly in interviews on Saturday, sounds like a broken record.

It is clear that Haney considers the rematch with Garcia very important to him because he needs it for the following reasons:
- It’s a very big payday
- Reassures his credibility as a hero: This may be a temporary thing because Haney will have problems whenever he fights someone strong.
- He keeps his work going: Again, another temporary thing. Devin is clearly a sinking ship and can only be kept afloat with Turki’s help for a limited time, as we saw with Deontay Wilder. If Haney keeps losing, Al-Shiekh won’t continue to throw defenses at him to keep his career from sinking.
Former two-division world champion Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) is still playing the PED card, which he used as an excuse for his loss to Ryan (24-1, 20 KOs) last April in Brooklyn, New York.

However, there is a risk if Turki picks someone too small for Haney because he could be outclassed or made to look bad if the fighter is strong. If Turki insists on putting Haney in a live body, it could be a tough job for him because they will finish what Garcia started.
Devin’s fighting style involves a lot of jabbing, constant bending, and movement. His fights with George Kambosos Jr. and Regis Prograis show Haney’s fighting style to a T. The way Haney fought those two is his style, and it’s not very exciting to watch, but it’s effective against that level of opposition.

“There is no bad blood with Eddie [Hearn]. If the opportunity presents itself and we can work together, it will happen. Otherwise, I thank Eddie for everything he has done for me. He put me on the spot. “He gave me a chance at the beginning, and I can’t thank you enough for that,” Haney said.
