Gossip Girls Kaylee DeFer Hints The Cast Has Ended The Show When She Joins

Gossip Girlof Ivy Dickens, played by Kaylee DeFerhe was the showman we all loved to hate because of his lateness to the Upper East Side.

“It was a very interesting situation for me because I came in at the end of season 4,” recalled DeFer, 38, during a recent appearance on the “Don’t Worry About It” podcast. “So, imagine you’re going into your senior year of high school with this one classmate who’s been together for four years and they’re already dating and they’re breaking up and they don’t want anything together.”

DeFer, on the flip slide, was “very happy to have a job.”

“It’s just, like, ‘Get out of here.’ [and] I’m like, ‘Please talk to me,’” DeFer added. “I’m like, ‘I don’t know anybody in New York. Want to join in?’ And they said, ‘No, we don’t babysit.’

DeFer reiterated that the entire cast was “very nice” to him but that he treated the experience as “work.”

Gossip Girladapted from Cecily Von Ziegesar’s YA book series of the same name, aired on The CW between 2007 and 2012. Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Chace Crawford, Ed Westwick, Penn Badgley again Taylor Momsen played students at the elite Constance Billard and St. Jude’s preparatory academies on NYC’s Upper East Side.

As the teen navigated high life at a young age, she also lived and breathed her way into the “Gossip Girl” blog that was (spoiler alert) run by Badgley’s Dan Humphrey. DeFer, meanwhile, came to town in season 4 as Lively’s cousin Serena Van der Woodsen.

After Ivy makes her way into high society, it is eventually revealed that she is employed by Serena’s aunt Carol (Sheila Kelley) as a way to protect his inheritance. Carol’s real daughter, Lola (Ella Rae Peck), she wanted nothing to do with her mother or the world of UES as she studied acting in college.

Despite the feelings of the cast, DeFer had nothing but fond memories of the performance Gossip Girl. Commented on the October podcast episode featuring creators Josh Schwartz again Stephanie Savage he wrote the role of Ivy directly for her after working together The mountain.

“They were very nice,” DeFer said. “They were like, ‘Kaylee, where have you been?
