Perhaps one of the best reasons we don’t need a The Golden Girls restart is because there is already one, in the form of It’s hot in Cleveland, a sitcom that ran from 2010 to 2015. Although not an official reboot, the series is about three middle-aged women who decide to stay in Cleveland after being accidentally stranded there due to a hurricane and realizing that they wouldn’t be considered “hot” by Cleveland’s standards.
The oldest member of the cast, Elka Ostrovsky, is played by the late, great Betty White, and she is the firecracker of the old lady and the housekeeper Melanie Moretti (Valerie Bertinelli), Joy Scroggs (Jen Leeves), and Victoria Chase (Wendie Malick). Does any of this sound familiar?
