Promoter Oscar De La Hoya revealed that he is in talks to do an event for Golden Boy Promotions – Matchroom Boxing 5 vs. 5 event in 2025.
This will be a contest for De La Hoya to match his best five Golden Boy fights with Eddie Hearn’s best five available boys. These two players will compete to see who has the best boys.
Golden Boy-Matchroom Showdown
“We’re still in talks and we’re getting ready to do big things in 2025,” Golden Boy promoter Oscar De La Hoya told Fight Hub TV about plans to do a 5 vs 5 bout with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing next year.

De La Hoya already has one of his fighters, Floyd Schofield Jr., challenging Hearn’s fighter, WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson, on February 22 at Turki Al-Sheikh’s event in Riyadh. Oscar is confident that Schofield will upset Shakur in that fight.
