Frostpunk 2 and Other Games Coming to Xbox Game Pass Soon

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate — a CNET Editors’ Choice award — offers hundreds of games to play on Xbox Series X, Series S, Xbox One and your PC or mobile device. $20 per month. A subscription gives you access to a huge library of games with new titles — like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 — added every month, as well as other benefits, like online multiplayer and deals on non-Game Pass titles.

Microsoft recently gave subscribers access to Age of Mythology: Retold and other games, and the company is adding these games to the service soon.

Command the land, the sea and the sky in this turn-based strategy game in the style of fire. It’s been three years since the queen of Aurania died, and now an outside party is uncovering forbidden technology on the coast. It’s up to you and the new characters — including the ever-present armored dog just the best guy — to stop these gangs from wreaking havoc across the country.

Frostpunk 2 (PC)

Available: September 20

This city-building survival game asks you to make the tough decisions needed to ensure your community survives the arctic apocalypse. Set 30 years after the events of the award-winning Frostpunk, you play as a boss, who controls the city after the death of the Captain — the player character of the original game –. The city is suffering from overcrowding, shortage of food and coal, among other problems. It’s up to you to build enough shelter and provide everyone with enough food while dealing with raiding parties. This game is only available to PC subscribers, including PC and Ultimate Game Pass subscribers.

Ara: History Untold (PC)

Available: September 24

Get ready to build and lead a nation in this turn-based grand strategy game. You can explore unique environments and biomes, develop your own culture and craft, and conduct diplomacy with other nations. If diplomacy fails, you can resort to strategic warfare. You can also download this game now, so it’s ready to play on Day 1. And this game is only available to subscribers on PC — meaning you’ll need a PC Game Pass or Ultimate subscription to play it.

Games are leaving Game Pass soon

While Microsoft is adding those three games to Game Pass, it’s also releasing nine more on Sept. 30. That means you still have time to finish your campaign and any side quests before you have to buy the games separately.
