Fire at Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj; controlled situation
An incident of fire at the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela was reported in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the relief and rescue operations.
The CM told Prime Minister Modi that effective firefighting teams and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team extinguished the fire at the right time.
No casualties were reported and the situation was brought under control.
More than 45 dedicated people are expected to attend this celebration.
Before the start of the much-awaited event, the state authorities have released a number of measures and resources to ensure the safety and security of the visitors.
Arrangements include the deployment of four AWT equipped with advanced features at the fairgrounds by the Uttar Pradesh Fire and Emergency Department to prevent and deal with fire incidents. These towers are modern firefighting vehicles specifically designed to fight fires in buildings and large tents.
These towers can operate at heights of up to 35 meters and horizontal distances of 30 meters.
A total of Rs 131.48 crore has been allocated for fire safety, which allows for the deployment of 351 fire engines, more than 50 fire stations, more than 2,000 trained personnel, 20 fire poles and fire engines installed in all tents, according to an earlier statement. .
