Elon Musk seems to confirm the decision to change the X’s blocking feature
Former President Trump discussed his relationship with Elon Musk and shared his opinion on EV mandates.
IX is reportedly planning to change its blocking feature in the near future, which will allow users to see the public posts of anyone they have blocked.
The news was announced on Monday afternoon by a web developer named Nima Owji.
“BREAKING: UX is about to remove the current block button, meaning that if an account is public, its posts will be visible to blocked users!” Owji wrote.
X owner Elon Musk appeared to confirm the news in a reply to Owji, where he wrote in favor of the feature change.

“This has been going on for a long time,” said the CEO of Tesla, Inc.. “The block function will prevent that account from sharing, but not seeing, public posts[s].”
Musk’s post was met with an overwhelmingly negative reaction. In response to Musk, Owji said he thought the decision was “a good move.”
“The block button for public accounts was a stupid feature as everyone could view posts in incognito mode of browsers,” he thought.

Hundreds of X users have expressed their concerns about the move, with most commenters pointing to the issue of harassment on the platform.
“Eh, I’m not a fan of this to say the least,” wrote Jeremy Clark, senior fellow at the Claremont Institute. “It’s very easy for bad actors to just take a screenshot and encourage their unblocked followers to abuse the account.”
“Respectfully, I think this is a bad idea,” replied rapper Zuby. “There are many reasons why one does not want certain people to easily see everything one has written publicly. There are REALLY bad actors on social media, which is sad.”
