Elon Musk dismisses ‘wrong-headed economic ideas,’ says there is ‘endless potential’ for job creation

Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk dismissed the scarcity mentality and suggested that there is actually unlimited potential for creating jobs and businesses.

“The ‘pie’ illusion is at the heart of a lot of wrong-headed economic thinking. In reality there are unlimited opportunities for job creation and corporate creation. Think of all the things that didn’t exist 20 or 30 years ago!” Musk announced in a post on X.

Musk’s comments were in response to a post by businessman Joe Lonsdale that talked about Sramm Krishnan – President-elect Trump’s recent involvement in his incoming administration. Last month, Krishnan advocated lifting the cap on green cards in a response to Musk’s post about the Department of Government Efficiency, a new agency Musk will lead with businessman Vivek Ramaswamy.

“Anything to remove country caps for green cards/open immigration would be huge,” Krishnan said on Twitter. In another post Krishnan added, “simple minded – we need the best, regardless of where they were born (another irony – the country cap is where you were born, not even citizenship).”

“Sriram still supports a merit-based process for getting a green card, not limiting the program. In fact, he wants to make the program completely merit-based,” Sacks wrote in part of his post.

“It makes sense,” Musk replied.
