Its dock can hold dirt and debris for up to 60 days, and the mopping pad and self-cleaning tank hold water for up to seven. It easily switches from vacuuming to mopping, automatically reversing its mop system and charging its carpet suction.

On hard floors, it can vacuum and mop at the same time. In addition to its other sensors, the Roomba has a dirt-detecting camera — and it can spot dirty areas up to eight times more often than other models.

A robot can map your home (like many of today’s models), but iRobot says it does it seven times faster while automatically labeling room types. Its software uses past cleaning data to predict the cleanliness of each room, adjusting its absorption accordingly.
