‘Duck Dynasty’ Alum Phil Robertson Diagnosed With Alzheimer’s Disease

Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson is in the “early stages” of Alzheimer’s disease, his family confirmed.

Son of Phil James Robertson shared a health update on his father, 78, on the Friday, December 6 episode of the podcast, “You’re Shameless with the Robertson Family”.

“According to the doctors, they are convinced that he has some kind of blood disease that causes all kinds of problems,” explained Jase, 55, in the podcast. “It’s fast and it causes problems with his whole body.”

Jase added that the diagnosis was difficult for his father mentally and physically, he said, “He is not working well. He’s really struggling.”

In addition, Phil’s health has also deteriorated due to an ongoing blood disease, Jase said.

Phil did not appear on the podcast episode due to his health making it difficult to do so despite being a reality star who wished we could.

“He keeps saying, ‘I’m going to come back to the podcast,'” Jase said. But I’m like, ‘Phil, you can’t walk around without crying in pain, and your memory isn’t what it used to be.’ He says, ‘Tell me about it.’ So he literally can’t – I think he would – sit down and talk. “

Phil found fame alongside his family in the original duck hunting series Duck Dynastywhich aired from 2012 to 2017. Along with Jase, Phil shares the older children Willie, 52, Yep,46, and Alan Robertson59, and wife Kay Robertson76.

She also found out in 2020 that she has a daughter, Phyllis Thomas49, who was born following an affair that took place 45 years ago.

In the podcast, Jase said that the family has been gathering Phil as they help him fight the disease.

“We’re trying to do a lot of things to find out how we can make him more comfortable, and maybe help with his memory,” she said. “We have a team of doctors and they all agree that there is no cure for him. And then, what do you do? We’re trying to make him a little more comfortable.”

Jase previously spoke about his love for his family in 2020 after finding out he had a sister he didn’t know.

He shared that because of this, he was willing to meet Phyllis and make peace.

“I fight with my family a lot but I got them,” explained Jase in the May 2020 episode of his “You’re not ashamed” podcast. “I love them. I’m there for them. So I had made that decision. I was willing to go either way. I was going to love him no matter what. But I was like, ‘I really do,’ which is great.”
