Donald Glover Cancels Remaining Childish Gambino Tour Dates

Donald Glover announced that he had to cancel the remaining dates of his Childish Gambino tour due to health issues.

“After my show in New Orleans, I went to the hospital in Houston to confirm the illness that was already obvious,” the “This Is America” ​​singer, 41, wrote on X on Friday, October 4. “After the test. [sic]it was clear that I would not be able to play that night, and after further evaluation, I was unable to go on another tour of the United States at the time I had requested.”

Glover added that he is currently “scheduled for surgery” for the undisclosed condition and will need time to focus on healing.

“My recovery is something I have to take seriously,” he continued. “That being said, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of the North American tour as well as the UK and European dates.”

Fans who bought tickets to see Glover during his time The New World Tour will be returned to the place of purchase.

Although Glover won’t be taking the stage anytime soon, he says he wishes he could get out there. “I want nothing more than to bring this show to the fans and entertain them. Until then, thank you for the love, privacy, and support,” he concluded.

Last month, Glover postponed his concerts due to an undisclosed health issue, but plans to reschedule the dates. He did not specify whether that past issue is related to the one he is currently canceling.

“Unfortunately I have to postpone the entire North American tour to focus on my physical health for a few weeks,” he wrote via X in September. “Hold on to your tickets. ALL tickets will be honored on future dates in North America when they are rescheduled. Thanks for the privacy. Thanks for the support. Thank you for the love.”

Glover kicked off the New World Tour in August at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City. The dates were supposed to be part of his farewell to his rap persona. Earlier this year, Glover revealed that he is still closing his eyes after releasing his album Bando Stone & New World.
