Former Paris Saint-Germain player Kylian Mbappé is facing legal trouble after his trip to Sweden last week, where he visited a nightclub on the night of France’s UEFA Nations League win over Israel.
Swedish media outlet Expressen report On Monday, Swedish police investigated Kylian Mbappé following allegations of rape. The French striker, 25, is accused of rape and sexual assault when he visited Stockholm last week.
Mbappé is being investigated on “substantial allegations” of sexual abuse, a crime considered the lowest in the Swedish justice system.
The report notes that Mbappé had dinner at Chez Jolie, a restaurant in Stockholm’s upscale Östermalm district, before heading to a nearby nightclub called “V.”
Expressen It also appeared in the police report that the alleged sexual abuse happened on Thursday, October 10. The incident was reported to the police two days later.
“This matter is being handled by the prosecutor,” said police spokesman Daniel Wikdahl. “I will not comment too much but I am referring to the prosecutor’s office.”
