Devin Haney Cryptic Message: Caught in 2025? Who Are You Talking About?

Devin Haney posted a cryptic message on social media tonight, saying he expects to be dumped in 2025.

He doesn’t say who will fight him, but he may be talking about Ryan Garcia because his promoter, Oscar De La Hoya, said there will be no match with Devin in his first fight after his one-year contract expires in April.

Devin and his father, Bill Haney, are looking for a rematch with Kingry to avenge their loss from last April. Also, it’s one of Haney’s (31-0, 15 KOs) highest paying fights in 2025. However, if he loses a rematch with Garcia, his career is over. He will regret taking that fight for the rest of his life.

Dev must defeat Garcia to show fans that his 12-round majority decision loss to Garcia on April 20 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn was just an off night. Haney was hit three times in that fight and three times the referee didn’t count them.

Andrade criticizes Haney

“In the beginning, I thought about Devin Haney for a long time because I thought he would grow up to be a Sugar Ray Leonard-style guy, but it hasn’t happened that way lately,” said Demetrius Andrade speaking to him at the start of MillCity Boxing. believing that Devin Haney will be the guy to beat Gervonta Davis.

“I don’t know if he is [Haney] he was very comfortable or not. You are young because they make good money, then they stop working. I’m not saying he doesn’t work hard. I thought he was going to be the guy to beat Tank in the future. Beat a lot of them, honestly.

“I think he has the skills to beat everybody, but that’s Ryan Garcia’s thing. Other than that little bit he took, he didn’t show any dominance skills compared to Ryan, and Ryan looked like s*** at times. He was tired,” Andrade said.

If Andrade thinks Haney is going to grow up to be the next Sugar Ray Leonard, then he wasn’t around when he was fighting. Haney doesn’t fight like Leonard does. Even the older version of Sugar Ray in 1997 was levels above Devin’s talent.

“There were a lot of rounds in that fight where Devin had to press and push, he didn’t do that,” Andrade said. “He just let it go, and then threw them through Caleb Plant’s holes. It didn’t do anything, and Ryan just snorted. That wasn’t easy,” Andrade said of Haney’s loss to Garcia.

Haney was trying to land a left hook on Ryan with an overbend, but he kept getting nailed as he tried to grab him. He was successful in fighting that way in his two fights against George Kambosos Jr. and his clash with Vasily Lomachenkp. That tactic didn’t work against Garcia.
