Telescope’s Discovering Dark Universe Shows a New Side of the Universe

Euclid is an ESA project, working in collaboration with other space agencies such as NASA, to study cosmic phenomena such as dark energy. It is a space satellite equipped with visible light cameras that allow the taking of detailed pictures of distant galaxies. It also uses advanced spectrometers capable of measuring near-infrared light in addition to the visible spectrum of light.

Originally launched in July 2023, the satellite capable of helping understand dark energy has begun the process of assembling a large mosaic map. The first 1 percent of that process has been completed and is giving researchers a lot of new information to study. The satellite’s sensitive camera and spectrometers allow scientists to examine celestial bodies up to 10 billion light-years away.
