Promoter Oscar De La Hoya says he will fight Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn “for free” on a six-vs-six card featuring fighters from both companies.
De La Hoya says he already knows the combination he will use to knock out Hearn, but he doesn’t want to reveal it. Oscar wants a good ending to this fight.
Obliterating Hearn is what De La Hoya has in mind, but he wants to remove the student’s pain and suffering before putting him out of his misery. If this fight does pan out, it won’t end well for Hearn.
The first one six-division world champion and 1992 Olympic gold medalist De La Hoya wants to extend the fight to “four to five rounds” to “enjoy himself.” He chastises Hearn a bit, and says, “Eddie’s going to retire.” It’s not a fair fight. Even at 51 years old, De La Hoya’s pedigree is too advanced for a born-to-riches promoter like Hearn to even last one round.

None of these battles have been discussed at this time. These are the fantasy matchups Hearn and De La Hoya are floating around as possibilities for the 6 vs. 6.
De La Hoya said he would need “two months” to prepare for the Hearn fight, which is surprising because even in his current condition, he would have been much heavier than the 45-year-old player. Hearn found it ridiculous that De la Hoya would need two months to train him.
“Just imagine you need me for two months. It’s too big, too powerful though,” Hearn told X.
Hearn is reportedly looking for eight figures to fight De La Hoya, and that won’t happen if he’s willing. That would be unfortunate if Hearn leans on His Highness, trying to get a big payday against De La Hoya which will be a complete mismatch.
“It started with Eddie because he is the type of promoter who doesn’t have the farming system we have with Top Rank. We know how to build fights from the ground up,” said Oscar De La Hoya speaking to Boxing King Media when asked who started the beef with Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn.
“What Eddie did was sign a few American fighters that were already built. He said, ‘I’m self-made, and I’m the best marketer.’ Well, you’re not. So, our back and forth is actually pretty good for boxing. That’s why we can milk 5 v 5 with me and Eddie. Maybe even a 6 v 6 where Eddie and I can get into it. I have no problem with that.”
It wouldn’t be bad at all to have Hearn and De La Hoya fight in the first fight, but it would send the wrong message if this was played out on the main card. It can make the event look like a clique game and create chaos for boxers and seniors trying to get into the game.
De La Hoya Will Fight For Free
“If he accepts the wars. The only question I will answer, and I will talk to His Excellency,” said De La Hoya. “I want a small ring. I wish it could be 16 by 16. 18 by 18 is normal regulation. I believe we can reach 16 by 16. If we go 16 on 16, Eddie will retire.”
Hopefully, the Honorable Turki Alalshikh shuts down the idea of Hearn and De La Hoya fighting on one of his Riyadh Season cards. It would be ridiculous and it could end badly for Hearn if he needs to be stretched out in the ring after being hit hard.
“Your Excellency, I will fight Eddie for free as a gift to you. It’s free, it will be my pleasure. I only need two months of training. I still have my jab and power. I already know the combination to take him out. I already have it in my head.
“No, I don’t want to share it in case we get into an argument. I think it will be a four or five round fight. I want to have fun out there,” said De La Hoya about wanting to increase the time he was beaten by Hearn.
