Dalal Street Week Ahead: Income, big data, FII activity, other important things to follow

Share Market News: Domestic equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty50 fell 2.2 percent and 2.7 percent respectively dragged by sell-off on Dalal Street last week, amid a slew of weak earnings from majors and continued outflow of foreign institutional investors. Investors lost Rs 21.2 lakh crore in wealth as the market capitalization (mcap) of BSE-listed companies contracted to Rs 437 lakh crore from Rs 458.2 lakh crore, according to interim exchange data.

As market participants await the final trade before Diwali, here are a few key events to track in the domestic and international markets during the trading week beginning October 28:

More than 350 companies are scheduled to report their financial results during the week.

Macroeconomic data

Official data on activity in eight key industries—all known as infrastructure sector activity—will be released at 5pm on Wednesday.

The PMI survey of the private sector that takes into account manufacturing activity in the country will be conducted at 10:30 am on Friday.

Institutional flow

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) have sold Indian stocks worth Rs 1,00,242 crore in October so far, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) have bought a total of Rs 97,091 crore, according to provisional exchange data.
