Crypto prices rise on Election Day as investors await the outcome

Cryptocurrency prices rose on Tuesday amid rising markets as investors awaited the results of the US election.

Major cryptocurrencies are seeing prices rise Election Day before the results are declared later in the day. Exchange-traded funds (ETFs) based on crypto assets also rose during trading on Tuesday.

Bitcoin is up more than 2.3% as of Tuesday afternoon at a price of $69,402 after breaching the $70,000 threshold earlier in the session.

Major bitcoin ETFs rose even higher through Tuesday afternoon. The iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF, the ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF and the Franklin Bitcoin ETF each rose more than 3.2%, while the Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund rose about 3.1%.

The price of ethereum rose more than 1.3% on Tuesday and was trading around $2,430 by mid-afternoon, after briefly reaching $2,476 a few hours earlier. The cost of shares ProShares Ether ETF changed to +0.5% for the week.

Ripple rose just over 1.5% in mid-afternoon trading after giving back some of its gains earlier in the day.

Dogecoin retook some of its earlier gains but was up more than 6.4% in afternoon trading.

Both of the two leading candidates for the presidency – former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris – have vowed to develop the crypto industry if they win the White House.

Trump said at a bitcoin conference in July that he wants to make the US “the crypto capital of the planet” and “bitcoin is a great power of the country” if he wins the election.

He said he will replace Gary Gensler, the association’s chairman Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)who has enacted a deregulation of the digital goods industry in an effort to root out bad actors. Trump said he would establish a crypto advisory council and that his administration would have a proactive approach to regulating digital assets.

Harris said in a September speech to Wall Street contributors that his administration would “promote new technologies like AI and digital assets while protecting consumers and investors,” according to the report. Bloomberg report. “We will create a safe business environment with consistent and transparent global rules.’

The vice president has not said whether he would remove Gensler as SEC chairman if elected.
