Costco has recalled several items in the past week and a half due to listeria concerns.
Two recalls were also announced Thursday: Readywise 110 Serving Emergency Protein Bucket and Red’s Southwestern Grill Chicken Mini Burritos. A few days ago, on Monday, a large number of El Monterey Mexican Grill Chicken & Cheese Taquitos were recalled. On October 11, Costco announced that Rana Chicken Truffle Carbonara and Tagliatelle Grilled White Chicken & Portobello Mushroom Sauce had been recalled.
Readywise’s notice said the cancellation was “due to Listeria contamination in chicken provided by one of our suppliers.” The company, based in Salt Lake City, Utah, urged customers not to use the product, and instead return it to Costco for a full refund.
Earlier this summer, Readywise’s large serving bucket was called “the apocalypse dinner kit.”

The prepared packages reportedly have a shelf life of 25 years – meaning, if uncertainty strikes, the consumer will have time to wait to use emergency food.
Dehydrated and dehydrated foods are designed to be a “long-term solution” rather than just a quick “temporary” or “temporary” fix, according to the product description.

Red’s says Southwestern Grilled Chicken Mini Burritos, item #1850156, are the only ones affected by the recall.
“Out of an abundance of caution, Red’s has expanded its voluntary recall of Southwestern Grilled Chicken Mini Burritos due to the potential for Listeria contamination in chicken supplied by one of our suppliers,” its notice said.
The company also said customers should not eat it, but instead return it to Costco for a full refund.

El Monterey chicken taquitos is part of the BrucePac Department of Agriculture (USDA)/Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) Class 1 recall of “fully cooked chicken taquitos produced at BrucePac’s Durant, Oklahoma facility due to listeria contamination,” a notice from at Ruiz Foods we say.
Rana Meal Solutions products are also part of the BrucePac food recall. The company says 1844072 and 1102200 affected items were sold between September and October 2024. Customers should not use the meal kits, but instead return them to Costco for a full refund.

The USDA, which initially issued a recall notice for BrucePac products on Oct. 9, issued a revised. It is a 343-page document of all products affected by the recall. This includes hundreds of different things that can be contaminated with meat.
BrucePac’s ready-to-eat meat and poultry, produced from May 31, 2024, to October 8, 2024, were shipped to other facilities and distributors nationwide before being shipped to restaurants, schools and institutions.

Costco regularly contacts customers who have purchased a recalled product. Only items with specific best-by dates or lot codes are affected. Costco also has a website dedicated to the product recall.

Listeria infections can be dangerous for older Americans, pregnant women and consumers with weakened immune systems. Sufferers of listeriosis may have symptoms such as “fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions sometimes accompanied by diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms,” said FSIS.
