Jimmy Butler slander isn’t hard to find amid his trade saga with the Heat, but one insider disputed a recent report about the Heat star.
The report in question is from an insider, Jake Fischer, who said that Butler went around and flew away from the team.
“Now it’s Pat Riley’s office that has shown that it can no longer tolerate Butler’s freedom, announcing to the world on Jan. 3 that the six-time NBA All-Star was suspended for ‘conduct detrimental to the team,’” Fischer wrote. . “Among Butler’s transgressions, according to league sources, were several instances of Butler skipping morning shots altogether and insisting on private jets that differed from the Miami team’s charter. Former Heat player Tim Hardaway Sr. told Sirius XM NBA Radio over the weekend that Riley sent a 10-page letter to the players’ association detailing Butler’s mistakes.”
However, one insider Chris Haynes wants to fix a few things.
“I was told 5 years ago, Jimmy [Butler] he took less than 5 different flights for the team and 4 of them were in the Finals against Denver when his father was sick,” said Haynes on the Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz.
The latest from ESPN’s Shams Charania is that Jimmy had a face-to-face meeting last week with Pat Riley and insisted he wants to be traded.
“Butler told Riley he would not sign a new contract in Miami and that he intended to exercise his $52 million player option for 2025-26 at the start of the season only as a trade,” sources said, Charania said.
The Suns remain the frontrunner to land the six-time All-Star, despite needing another team to take on Bradley Beal’s massive contract to facilitate the deal.
