Charles Barkley Blasts Joel Embiid For Objection To Load Control

Charles Barkley targets 76ers man Joel Embiid in a narrative investigation of the handling of the burden around him.
NBA analyst Shams Charania revealed this week that the NBA will investigate, as Embiid will miss the entire opening week and did not play in any preseason games due to the management of a knee injury.
“It is normal for the NBA to review the team whenever a star player misses a nationally televised game, in accordance with the policy of player participation,” said Shams.
But, despite declaring that he will probably “never play back-to-back” in his career, it’s not a good start to the season.
These guys played only 39 games last season, due to various injuries, yet they were able to play for Team USA in Paris.
Barkley didn’t hold back on the TNT situation and basically told Embiid to toughen up.
“Man, I don’t know what the Sixers are doing. I don’t think it’s right,” Barkley said. “[Embiid] we just signed a three-year, $193 million. Three years, $193 million to play basketball. We are not steel workers, we are not nurses, like people who got real jobs where they have to work 40-50 hours a week. We play basketball at least four days a week. Most of the time three days a week. He has the best backup in the league [Andre] Drummond.
“If they had to say it – and Kenny [Smith] and Shaq [O’Neal] know this – just say hello I’ll play 25 minutes on the second night of a back-to-back. Anyway, Drummond is playing, but going out and predicting it was foolish of the Sixers. Time.”
Philly says Embiid is “responding well to his personal program” and will include his return-to-play activities this week, including scrimmage.
