Cards Against Humanity sue Elon Musk’s SpaceX for trespassing

Cards Against Humanity is suing Elon Musk’s space exploration company, SpaceX, for $15 million after it allegedly dumped construction equipment on the gaming company’s private property in Texas.

The email, posted on Threads, went out to about 150,000 Cards Against Humanity Saves America donors. Those donors donated $15 seven years ago to help a pet company buy land along the US-Mexico border to protect it from former President Donald Trump’s plan to build a wall to stop illegal immigration.

“Unfortunately, an even richer, racist billionaire – Elon Musk – snuck up behind us and completely destroyed your world with rocks, bulldozers, and space junk,” the email read.

CAH’s complaint, filed against SpaceX Thursday evening in Cameron County District Court, shows photos of the site in 2017, which the company has left in a state similar to the wild, a place where it says “wild horses gallop freely in the Texas moonlight. .” Those images were combined with images of the site today, with excavated earth, pipes, and construction materials.

CAH alleges that SpaceX treated the site as its own for at least six months, removing vegetation, compacting soil with rocks, and generally creating an unsafe work environment.

The company said that when confronted by SpaceX over allegations that it was not respecting its property rights and trespassing, the space company responded with a 12-hour decision to “accept a lowball offer at half the world price.”

“We said, ‘Go away, Elon Musk. We’ll see you in court.’”

In the complaint, CAH outlines its way of maintaining the trust of its loyal followers hoping to encourage them to resist injustice. CAH says it uses pranks and stunts to draw attention to certain issues or “people who ignore the rights and problems of ordinary people to enrich or aggrandize themselves.”

Trump and Musk have been two constant targets of CAH.

Neither CAH nor SpaceX immediately responded to requests for comment.

CAH said in its campaign email to donors that if it wins the fight, the 150,000 people who donated $15 in 2017 will be able to split the proceeds of the suit, “so $100 per person.” The company also admitted that its chances are slim because “Musk has more money and lawyers than us, so he’s going to get, like, $2 higher.”

The email also includes a call to action, asking campaign donors to “tweet (the platform X wants to call for sexual gratification)” to spread awareness about the case, via a link to www.ElonOwesYou100Dollars.com.
