‘Breaking Bad’ New Mexico home on the market for $3.9 million

The lucky buyer will get a chance to step inside the world of Walter White. The fictional character’s real life home is now on the market.

Featured on AMC’s hit show, “Breaking Bad,” starring Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, the New Mexico home is for sale for $3.9 million with listing agents David Christensen and Sonya Avila of The Christensen Group | eXp Realty Luxury and Ryan Johnston of InterPhase Entertainment.

The show focused on a high school teacher who teams up with a local drug dealer to cook and distribute crystal meth to raise money to support herself and her family after being diagnosed with Stage 3 lung cancer.

Cranston and Paul won multiple Emmy Awards for their work on the show, and the series received multiple wins for outstanding drama series.

Tucked away behind an iron gate, the front yard of the home has a small grassy area with a large tree, providing shade in the hot summer months. A gated entry guards the front door of the home, which is flanked by a green hedge and decorative stones.

The 1,910 square-foot house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, a dining room, a living room and a kitchen.

The home also has an attached two-car garage.

Another highlight of the home, aside from its place in Hollywood history, is the backyard. The yard has a shaded seating area with a barbecue area and a large swimming pool with a diving board.

“Breaking Bad” aired on AMC for five seasons, from 2008 to 2013, and despite the show ending ten years ago, fans continue to visit the famous home, much to the chagrin of its current owner, Joanne Quintana.

In a recent interview with Albuquerque television station KOB-TV, Quintana admitted that they weren’t interested in the fan visits at first, but the gatherings quickly became overwhelming. After the death of his parents, he and his siblings decided to sell the house.

“This has been our family’s home since 1973, almost 52 years. So, we’ll just take our memories with us. It’s time to move on. We’re done. There’s no reason to fight anymore,” Quintana explained.

While the popular show was being filmed, the Quintana family became close to the cast and crew. Speaking to the television station, Quintana shared behind-the-scenes secrets, including how her mom Fran always baked everyone cookies during filming.

“The funny thing was that Bryan Cranston couldn’t eat one cookie. Because he had cancer on the show, so he was losing weight. So, he would pass, but everyone – all the directors, all the writers – would eat cookies. On the last day of shooting, he takes a picture with my mother’s biscuit because he finally ate them his cakes,” she said.
