Brandon ‘Cannon’ Adams lost a split decision to Andreas Katzourakis on Friday night at Corey Studios in Corey Towers, Atlanta, Georgia.
In this match, Oshae ‘Suga’ Jones, who is an athlete, was upset by the decision to part with champion Femke ‘Thunder’ Hermans with the IBF and WBO Super Welterweight belt.
WBA Continental Americas Super Welterweight champion Adams (25-4, 16 KOs) lost a 10-round split decision to Katzourakis (15-0, 10 KOs).
In the first round, it was all inside fighting games. Katzourakis suffered an injury to his left eye. In the second round, Katzourakis landed a really low blow, dropping Adams. Referee Thomas Taylor gave him time to come back. The action continued when Adams woke up. In the third and fourth rounds, Katzourakis continued to have Adams against the ropes for the most part.
In the fifth round, the non-stop hitting from both continued. In the final seconds, referee Taylor warned Katzourakis for landing low punches. In the sixth and seventh rounds, the battle continued, going back and forth between who had the advantage.
In the eighth and ninth rounds, the fight was fierce in the middle of the ring, with Adams grappling. In the tenth and final round, the battle of all actions continued until the bell.
Scores 97-93 Adams, 97-93 and 96-94 Katzourakis.
Two-division champion and IBF World and WBO Super Welterweight champion Femke ‘Thunder’ Hermans (18-5, 7 KOs) lost her title and 2020 Olympic bronze medalist Oshae by a 10-round split decision ‘Suga’ Jones (8- 0, 3 KOs).
In the first round, both had their time in a close round. In the second round, Jones rocked Hermans with a left to the chin, nearly knocking him off the bar. In the action-packed third round, a clash of heads caused swelling in Jones’ right eye area.
In the fourth round, Jones again put Hermans in trouble, landing on the chin. Midway through the fifth round, Hermans landed a hard right to the chin of Jones. Switching to southpaw throughout, Hermans was hit hard on the iron.
Hermans had his best rounds in rounds six and seven. In the eighth round, Jones made a good comeback, passing Hermans.
Both had moments in the ninth round, with Jones taking the round. In the tenth and final round, Jones may have pulled it off in a close, action-packed fight.

Lightweight Maliek ‘Mayhem’ Montgomery (20-0, 18 KOs) knocked out Sakaria ‘Desert Storm’ Lukas (26-3-1, 18 KOs) at 1:40 of the fourth round of the scheduled ten rounds.
In the first round, Montgomery had Lukas closing in on the bell at the end of the bell. In the second, half a minute left, the fists from Montgomery released Lukas with 8 points from referee Nate Mann.
In the third round, turning south, Montgomery continued to dominate Lukas. In the fourth round, midway through, the southpaw Montgomery hit a left hook, knocking Lukas out of the arena from Referee Mann.
Welterweight southpaw David ‘Dynamite’ Lopez (7-0, 5 KOs) stopped Marlin ‘So Icey’ Sims (8-4, 4 KOs) at the end of the first round of a scheduled six rounds.
In the first round, with thirty seconds left, Lopez landed a left hook to the chin, knocking Sims to the canvas at the 8 count of Referee Malik Waleed. Lopez jumped on him, going up and down as the round ended. The Sims corner is called a halt. Lopez had a little blood on his nose at the end.
Super Middleweight ‘The Brickbuster’ Nathan Lugo (3-0, 3 KOs) stopped Mardoche Ilunga (1-1-1, 1 KO) at 0:44 of the fourth and final round.
In the first round Lugo chased Ilunga. In the second and third round, Lugo continued to beat Ilunga who was defending himself.
In the fourth and final round Lugo continued where he left off as Ilunga’s corner called referee Thomas Taylor to stop.
Lightweight Jonny ‘Magic’ Mansour (3-0, 1 KO) easily defeated Luciano Ramos (2-8) in four rounds.
In the first two rounds, Mansour easily won rounds from the swinging Ramos, who kept his gloves up as a defense. In the third round, Mansour landed a three-punch combo that ended with a right uppercut to the chin of Ramos in the midsection. In the fourth and final round, Mansour continued to close, easily getting to Ramos looking to go the distance. The scores were 40-36, 40-36, and 40-36.
