IBF No. undefeated 8 ranked junior middleweight Ardreal ‘Bossman’ Holmes, Jr. (17-0, 6 KOs) defeated ‘The Silverback’ Edwin Junior Jimenez (9-1. 7 KOs) by a 10-round unanimous decision on Thursday night at Dort Federal Event Center, Flint, Michigan. 9 points7-93, 97-93 and 97-93.
Joey ‘Small Town Soldier’ Spencer won by majority decision over previously undefeated Miguel Hernandez in the main event.
Southpaw Ardreal ‘Bossman’ Holmes, Jr. defeated ‘Silverback’ Edwin Junior Jimenez by a 10-round decision in the main event.
In the first round, Holmes, who has a height advantage of 7”, used an effective jab, taking an easy round. In the second and third rounds, a swinging Jimenez made it close as Holmes countered to the body. In the fourth round, Jimenez pressured Holmes throughout.
In the fifth and sixth rounds, Jimenez worked Holmes hard to the body. In the seventh round, Holmes used his jab for a close round.
In the eighth and ninth rounds, Holmes got away enough, taking both rounds.
Jimenez dominated the first half of the round in the tenth, with Holmes using right hooks in the latter part of a close round.
The referee was Ben Rodriguez—he scored 97-93.
In a co-main event, Joey ‘The Small Town Soldier’ Spencer (19-1, 11 KOs) won a 10-round majority decision over Miguel Hernande (9-1, 7 KOs)
Spencer fought an up-and-coming Hernandez in a close first round. From the center of the area to the post, Hernandez made it to Spencer in the second corner. In the third round Spencer came back to do enough to take the round.
In the fourth round, Spencer dominated, landing a right uppercut to the chin with a minute left that rocked Hernandez. In the fifth round, Hernandez came back, taking a close round.
Hernandez used a successful jab in the sixth round, making Spencer’s cheekbones red. In the seventh round, Spencer returned with uppercuts to the chin of Hernandez, which ended the round. In the eighth round, Hernandez knocked out Spencer.
It went back and forth in the ninth round, with Spencer taking it out. In the tenth and final round, fighting for points, another close round with Hernandez taking it.
The referee was Ansel Stewart. Scores 95-95, 97-93, 98-92. 95-95 KH.
Super lightweight Samantha ‘The Heat’ Worthington (10-0, 7 KOs) defeated Jaica ‘The Hit Maker” Pavilus (4-7-1, 1 KO) over 6×2 rounds.
For the first three rounds, it was all Worthington outing Pavilus, who turned southpaw at times.
In the final seconds of the fourth round, Worthington rocked Pavilus with a right to the chin. In the fifth round, it was all Worthington. In the sixth and final round, after a minute, Worthington rocked Pavilus from the southpaw with a right cross. At the last minute, a clash of heads opened up Worthington’s left eyebrow.
The referee is Marc Fennell. The scores were 59-55, 59-55, and 59-55.
Middle Da’Velle Smith (11-0, 8 KOs) won a controversial majority decision over southpaw William ‘Turbo’ Townsel (8-2, 6 KOs) in eight rounds.
In the first round, in the middle, a right followed by a left from Smith to the chin and Townsel down without a count for some reason, referee Ben Rodriguez wandered off. Smith continued to use his jab to control the second round.
In the third round, Townsel, in the first minute, landed his first successful punch, which landed on Smith’s chin. Smith did well after that until Townsel landed a left to the chin in the final twenty seconds again. In the final seconds, Smith got a combination. In the fourth round, midway through, Smith landed several punches on Townsel’s chin. Townsel rocked Smith with a right hook to the chin in the final seconds.
In the fifth round, Townsel dominated the round, backing up Smith throughout the ring, landing mostly lefts to the chin. Smith made it very close in the sixth round and may have knocked Townsel out.
Midway through the seventh round, Townsel rocked Smith with an overhand left to the chin. In the last minute, Townsel punched Smith three times in the chin. In the eighth and final round, it was all Townsel. In the final seconds, Smith was exhausted, grabbing Townsel and pushing him into the ring against the ropes.
The scores were 76-76, 77-75 and 78-74. 77-75. Townsel 77-75 by KH.
Heavyweight Pryce Taylor (5-0, 3 KOs) stopped KeShawn Jackson (1-4) in the first round of a 4-rounder.
Super flyweight Byron Rojas (29-4-3, 11 KOs) defeated Robin ‘Gravedigger’ Ellis (6-8, 5 KOs) in eight rounds.
Featherweight Caroline Veyre (8-1) defeated Gabriela ‘La Gaby’ Bouvier (19-14-1, 4 KOs) in 10×2 rounds.
Junior middleweight Hunter Lee (1-0, 1 KO) knocked out Derrick Shreeve (0-1) in the first round.
