Boots Ennis Shows No Action Against Crawford

Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis says he wants to fight superstar Terence Crawford, but he’s not doing anything to make it happen. Ennis (32-0, 29 KOs) chose to stay at 147 in his safe, IBF mail title defense against unknown fighters rather than move up to 154 for the big prize, a fight against Crawford.

Boots prefers to play it safe, defending his belt against fighters like Karen Chukhadzhian, rather than stepping up to force a fight with Crawford. Look at it this way: Boots designed a happy life, making millions struggle with poverty in this country waste disposal site at 147, and he doesn’t have to worry about being exposed by Crawford or the many talents at 154.

Ennis would have already boxed Crawford by moving up to 154 and beating one of these fighters:

– Sebastian Fundora
– Bakhram Murtazaliev
– Serhii Bohachuk
– Tim Tszyu
– Vergil Ortiz Jr

This is Boot Ennis’ place lack of initiative in making the Crawford fight happen it makes it clear that he wants no part of fighting Crawford because it might interfere with his career.

It’s a dangerous fight for Ennis, 27, because if he loses to Crawford, the good wages he’s getting now fighting for Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom will dry up. He will be one of the many competitors in the 154, trying to fight against the best fighters.

Hearn will not keep Ennis there if he loses to Crawford and he showed that he has a high level of work, which some fans are now looking at him as.

To be a part of Hearn’s prestigious Matchroom team, you have to produce, take risks, and show that you belong in his company. So far, Ennis hasn’t lived up to the promise and hasn’t shown the courage needed to become a star by moving up to 154 to force a fight with Crawford, another killer in that weight class.

Boots has no personality to be a star outside the ring. He should be a star by beating the best, and he’s not trying to fight those type of fighters. Hearn will find out sooner or later Ennis is an excellent host and he has no desire to do more for himself in his work.

“I hope it’s true. Like I said. I was asking for that fight, and I’m tired of answering the same questions. Go ask him! I said yes many times; I’m tired of answering,” said Boot Ennis on Ariel Helwani’s channel when asked if it was true or false that he would fight Terence Crawford at some point in his life.
