Biden is “deeply concerned” by leaked US intel about Israel’s plans for Iran, the White House said.

Washington – President Biden is “deeply concerned” by the leak of US intelligence documents about Israel’s preparations to attack Iran, which is being investigated by the Pentagon, National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said Monday.

Kirby told reporters that the Biden administration would not be able to say whether the classified information that was made public over the weekend by the messaging app Telegram was leaked or the result of a hack, but the president would be “actively monitoring” the progress of the investigation.

“I know that the Department of Defense is investigating this, and I’m sure that as they’re working on that, they’re going to try to find out how they came out to the public,” said Kirby. “We are very concerned, and the president is still very concerned, about any leak of classified information to the public. That should not happen, and it is unacceptable when it does.”

The press secretary at the White House, Karine Jean-Pierre said that the matter is “still under review” and the president has “full confidence” in the relevant government agencies.

The documents appear to show plans for Israeli retaliation against Iran, including the freeze and redeployment of weapons. The documents, marked top secret, were first reported Saturday by CNN and Axios.
