‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ wins the box office instead of ‘Transformers: One’ surprisingly

Say his name three times because he just won the weekend box office.
“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” the sequel to Tim Burton’s 1988 horror comedy, took the No. 1 spot. 1 at the box office for the third week in a row, earning $26 million, according to studio estimates.
It just finished its new weekend release, “Transformers: One,” the Optimus Prime animated origin story featuring the voices of Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry and Scarlett Johansson, which brought in $25 million.
The release of “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” Warner Bros. starring Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder opened three weeks ago to $110 million and has since grossed more than $226 million domestically, according to Box Office Mojo.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, “Transformers: One” has had great reviews and even word of the awards, but fans on social media were “confused about the animation status of the film.” The outlet added that Paramount, the studio behind the film, hopes to have staying power in theaters in the next few weeks.
James McAvoy’s horror “Speak No Evil” took third place at the box office with $5.9 million in its second week, for a combined total of $21.5 million.
Rounding out the top five was Halle Berry’s horror film “Never Let Go” in fourth place with $4.5 million, while Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s “Deadpool & Wolverine” took home $3.9 million in its ninth weekend in theaters.

Also making an impact at the box office was Demi Moore’s much-talked-about body horror film, “The Substance”, which took sixth place at $3.1 million, and was only seen on limited screens in its opening weekend.
“Am I racist?” when Conservative columnist Matt Walsh disguised himself as a “DEI intern” — he took seventh place with $2.9 million.
