Scheduled presenter Aubrey Plaza did not attend the 2025 Golden Globes.

Plaza, 40, has been announced as one of more than 40 presenters for the annual Golden Globe Awards on Thursday, January 2. The show will air live at Los Angeles’ Beverly Hilton Hotel.
One day after Plaza was announced as the presenter, her husband Jeff Baena was found dead at their home in Los Angeles on Friday, January 3. Us Weekly later confirmed that the indie screenwriter had died by suicide. He was 47 years old.
At the time of writing, Plaza is still listed as a Golden Globes presenter. Us contacted Plaza officials for comment about his presence but received no response.

Plaza has not spoken publicly about her husband’s passing. The two, who keep their relationship private, started dating in 2011 and lived together for nearly a decade before tying the knot in 2020.

It’s a big story,” Plaza said of his marriage to Baena when they appeared in December 2021 The Ellen Degeneres Show. “We were bored one night. “My first film was a great learning experience in all areas, so working with her was beneficial because we have a short relationship and a close relationship,” said Baena about his wife in an interview with August 2022. Newsweek.
“As I have done many things, I have been grateful for everything he brought,” continued the late filmmaker. “He’s incredibly talented and very smart and obviously really good at producing. And he writes. There are very few people who can wear as many hats as her, with as much beauty as her.”
Meanwhile, Baena continued to insult his wife, saying “everything she does is amazing,” adding, “People usually point to her as the best part of any project she’s in.”
He concluded by saying, “He’s insanely talented and I’m so lucky to have him in my life.”
